ABOUT ME
Welcome! I'm Matt, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My research interest spans the fields of microbial ecology, ecosystem ecology, biogeochemistry, and soil ecology in managed and 'natural' ecosystems. I completed my PhD at Kansas State University where I studied legacy effects and ecosystem recovery from long-term nitrogen fertilization. My current research continues exploring how human activities alter plant-microbial feedbacks and their associated biogeochemistry over space and time in terrestrial ecosystems. My work is largely interdisciplinary and considers perspectives from the microbial to ecosystem scale, all in the context of global change and land-use change.
